Mr. Tommy Franklin Williams

Almost seventy-seven years ago, God blessed the Earth with Tommy Williams. On 24 June 2025, God blessed Heaven. Tommy retired from his Earthly labors in his house that was filled with the love and tears of his family. He now lives for evermore in the joy of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through faith in God and hard work, Tommy provided a rich and full life for his family. After serving three years in the Army, including one year as Military Police in South Korea, he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Tommy then worked as a musician while attending college. When he graduated, he began to work as a Service Manager in Telecom. In almost fifty years of arduous service to AT&T, Tommy never once called in sick. His family never lacked any good thing. Tommy was the faithful husband to his only wife Linda, who gave him two sons and much love in their fifty-six years of marriage. His life was a continuous sermon that taught his boys how to be an upright man, honorable husband, and a faithful father who loved his neighbor and his family by being honest, working hard, and treating others as he wanted to be treated. He loved the King James Bible; Tommy endured many hours of overtime to send his sons to a school that taught from the same. He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church for several decades, where he could be found singing hymns, tithing, and writing notes in the margins of his beloved Bible. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman who traveled several times to Colorado to enjoy the splendor of its aspen trees and bowhunt its elk. He always returned home with a renewed appreciation for and stories of the beauty and majesty of his God's creation. Through his living example, Tommy gave his sons an understanding of and respect for physical fitness. His appearance testified to his dedication to clean eating and resistance training. He strived for good health and encouraged others to do the same. Tommy was raised in music. He enjoyed telling stories of his father playing fairs and radio shows with Hank Williams. As the lead singer, guitarist, and bassist for the Tom Williams Band, Tommy entertained many with his renditions of gospel, country, and rock music, along with his original songs. His powerful and pleasant voice always impressed. He often was told, "You sound like Tom Jones." Tommy was born to Charles Franklin Williams and Lucille Curtis Thomas Williams on 04 September 1948, in Wetumpka, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Judith Williams. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Linda Williams; his sons: Brian (Monica) Williams, and Stephen (Solomiya) Williams; his brothers: Mickey Williams, and Kenny (Karen) Williams; his sister: Jan (Wayne) Dooley; four grandchildren: Brittany Williams, Rachel Williams, Jacob Williams, and Aurelia Williams; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He has left a world that is better for having had him, and worse for having lost him. He is beloved and will be missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation at parkinson.org, in his memory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, 28 June 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Pallbearers will be Brian Williams, Stephen Williams, Jacob Williams, Kenny Williams, Roger Bowman, and Ronnie Collins; honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Williams, Ronnie Adair, Don Allen, and Wade Barrow.
