Mr. Michael "Mike" Irvin Lockwood

Michael “Mike” Irvin Lockwood, 73, a resident of Deatsville went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026, at Prattville Baptist Hospital after an extended illness surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Coosada Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Franklin officiating. The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers will be Stewart Lockwood, Jeremy Simmons, Mike Allen, Conie Mac Darnell, Neal Higgins and Gary Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents “Herbie” Irvin Mathew Lockwood Jr. – Ann Stewart Lockwood. Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Linda Cantrell Lockwood, his son Stewart (Ashley) Lockwood, his daughters Leigh Anne (Jeremy) Simmons and Katie Lockwood (Edward). He was known as “Pop” by his grandchildren: Landon Simmons, Bryce Simmons, Cody Simmons, Sawyer Lockwood, Levi Lockwood, his sister Sherry (Dick) Stuckey, niece Allie (Daniel) Benton and nephew Blake Stuckey, great niece and nephew Caroline Benton and Matthew Benton. Mike was born in Montgomery on September 18, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School and a 1977 graduate of Auburn University with a BS in Marketing and loved all things Auburn. He began working at Winn Dixie in high school and continued in college. After graduation he became a store manager until 1982. He then became an insurance agent for Liberty National and continued his insurance career retiring in 2025 as Vice President of Marketing for American Insurance Marketing Services (AIMS) in Montgomery. He loved coaching his 3 children in baseball and softball, and loved even more watching his grandchildren play baseball, basketball, soccer, football, etc. Mike was a devoted Christian and attended Coosada Baptist Church for 32 years where he was a member of the Bible Study Class and attended the Coosada Baptist Men’s Breakfast at Front Porch Grill every Thursday. The Lockwood family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the kindness and care shown by the doctors and nurses of the ER and ICU at Prattville Baptist Hospital during their time of need. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coosada Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
