Mr. Jeffrey Lew Chapman

Jeff was born on April 6, 1957, in Montgomery, Alabama and left this world on January 31, 2025, while on a skiing trip in Colorado with his family. He was 67 years young. He was preceded in departure by his father Herb Chapman Jr. and his mother Lula Chapman. He is survived by his wife Gail, two sons, Cody and Cory and daughter Cassie Lu. He is survived by three brothers, Joel (Jan), Jon (Robin) and Jere. He also has three grandchildren: Kaylee, Kason and Karlee and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. After spending his first 12 years in Millbrook, he left for more than 20 years before returning to raise his family close to the old home place. Jeff has lived in Millbrook for the past 35 years. He has been a participator in his community and beyond. He has been a member of the Millbrook Men's Club, and one could find him manning the money station at their annual barbecues for the past 30 years. Jeff has been a horse enthusiast for more that 30 years and has ridden trails all through the Smokey Mountains and beyond. He has literally taken dozens, if not hundreds, of people trail riding over the years. He was the owner and operator of the commercial cleaning business " Clean King" for the past 15 years. Jeff is a member of the Hunter Hills Church of Christ where he has been involved in their prison ministry for more than 20 years. In his younger years he was crowned Mr. Lee High School and won the Jimmy Hitchcock Award which was to promote Christian Leadership in athletics. It is an award still given today in Montgomery and Jeff was instrumental in establishing the same type of award in the Elmore County area named after Joe Sewell. He was also a superb athlete and lettered in football and wrestling at Lee High School. He was undefeated in three years of high school wrestling and played two years of junior college football in Mississippi. He finished his degree in business at Abilene Christian Academy. He was an Alabama football fan and was fortunate enough to be alive through the Bear Bryant era as well as the Nick Saban era. He was an original from God and left a lasting impression on thousands. He will truly be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Hills Church of Christ with Jon Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
