Mr. George Ellis Stewart

On the morning of January 17, 2025, George Ellis Stewart Jr. departed this earth. He had a life in New York and Alabama. He lived most of his early years in New York. He was one of the best kin sprinters on the Whitney Track team. He graduated Eli Whitney Vocational high school in 1975. He was on Whitney’s/All top 10 list in 220 yd dash indoors and the 220 and 440 yard outdoors. He was one of the best in track district conference and NYC in the 100-yard dash. He later moved to Alabama and graduated from Devry with a business degree. He was a police officer for the Millbrook Police Department. He was an upholsterer and electrician. One of his greatest accomplishments was being owner and baker of “That’s It Brother George’s Sweet Potato Pie with the Heavenly flavor!” George was a man of faith. He was a former member of Lake Elam Baptist Church. He was a faithful servant for the Center of Hope International in Astoria, New York. He graduated from Nyack College in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in ministry. He loved to serve and especially when he got invitations to preach! George is proceeded in death by his parents George Ellis Stewart Sr. and Laura Stewart and also his sister Loleatlia Stewart of Millbrook AL. He leaves nine children Emma (Marvin) Rudolph, Monica (Arthur) McQueen, Kunta (Tamika) Mims, Ellis (Jamell) Mims, Shaneka (Samuel) Mills,George Stewart III of Millbrook, AL, Brandon Webb, Tony Webb and Asa Webb of Atlanta Georgia. He leaves his siblings Johnny (Easter) Stewart of New York and Clara Stewart of Prattville, AL and Carolyn (Linward) Jackson Jr. of Georgia. Several devoted nieces and nephews, Sharrell (Andre) Smith, Natanya Commodore and Xzavier (Shantell) Stewart of Millbrook Al. Candice (Corey) Hall of Prattville AL. He had 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 grand dogs Roxie and Prince. A devoted friend Charlie Long and William Cromblin. A special Thank You to all his friends and family from New York and Alabama. A special thanks to Clyde, Richard. Raoul Coach Carpenter of the New York Alumni track Team. God's Promise: We have died in baptism and have the promise that if we remain faithful and trust in the Lord, there is nothing for us to fear either. Jesus paid the price for each one of us and said that he does not intend to lose any that have been entrusted to him. Let us trust in the goodness of God and in the promise made to us by Jesus. Death has been conquered forever and today is a day to rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord for He is our strong tower, our comforter, our peace and strength. Love you much family. 🤟😘
