Mrs. Anna "Reba" Autrey Wooten

Mrs. Anna "Reba" Autrey Wooten, age 93, died peacefully at her home on October 9, 2025. Reba was born on February 27, 1932, to Young Cornelius Autrey and Addie Lee Jordan Autrey. She graduated from Pine Hill High School before attending the University of Montevallo where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953. Reba received her Master of Education from Auburn University in 1974 and later received her degree in Educational Administration from Auburn University in Montgomery in 1980. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and held several positions in the organization both locally and regionally and was a member of Millbrook First United Methodist Church since 1974. Reba retired from Elmore County Board of Education in 1996 after more than 44 years in Education throughout Alabama and Florida panhandle. Reba was recognized by the City of Millbrook on her 90th birthday in 2022, with a proclamation and was presented with the United Women in Faith Neil Chance Excellence in Service Award in 2023, for her commitment, labor and dedication. She was an avid Auburn Tigers and Atlanta Braves fan and loved to read, keeping a journal since her college days of all the books she read. Reba also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Reba was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, C. Dwight Wooten, her parents, Young and Addie Lee Autrey and sister, Olive Ruth Gynther. She is survived by her children, Patsy Wooten Moeller (Mark) of Atlanta, GA; Debbie Wooten Hancock of Pensacola, FL; Cindy Wooten Cauthen (Karl), Candy Wooten Fraley, John Wooten (Amy), all of Millbrook, AL, and Kathy Wooten Faulk (Richard) of Choctaw, OK, brother-in-law Walter Wooten of Pensacola, FL and sister -in-law Kitty Wilcox of Gulf Breeze, FL. Reba is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchilden and 13 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. CST at Millbrook First Methodist Church with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. CST. Rev. Dr. Tyler Cox and Mr. Scott Cobb will be officiating. The interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens in Wetumpka, AL. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Bernie Moeller, Christopher Hancock, Chad Cauthen, Chase Cauthen, Trey Faulk and Kade Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Quivis Bowen, Loretta Holyfield, Valerie McKenzie, Bonita Washington and Lois Wilson, beloved friends and caregivers.
