Mr. Timothy Lynn Hicks

Timothy Lynn Hicks, age 58, of Millbrook, Alabama, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home. Our greatest blessing and memory of Tim was when he accepted the Lord on October 25, 2023, and today he is in heaven with Ed (father), Brian (step-brother) and Wendy (step-sister). He was born in Izmir, Turkey, on December 13, 1967, as a military dependent with guaranteed American citizenship by the U.S. Consulate, during the time his father, Ed Hicks, was stationed at Chili Air Base, Turkey. Tim became the stepson of Rick Spikes, an Air Force veteran, and retiree, on April 17, 1970. Tim traveled with Rick and Laura to various military bases in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and Mississippi. He moved to Florida, when Rick retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1987. Tim graduated from Biloxi High School, Biloxi, Mississippi. He moved from Hosford, Florida to Fuller, California, accepting a Cracker Barrel Restaurant Manager job, and attended night classes for nursing. After finding out his father’s (Ed) health was deteriorating, Tim moved, in 1996, from California to Millbrook, Alabama continuing to work with the Cracker Barrel Restaurant Chain accepting a job as a kitchen head cook. He visited his dad, spending time with him often, and remained very close to him until Ed’s death. Ed worked with Agent Orange in Vietnam during the 1960s, and years later, died from the chemical side effects. Tim was an avid FSU fan annually traveling from Alabama to Tallahassee, Florida to see live football games. During Tallahassee visits he wore, and bought, FSU shirts, and jackets. He proudly displayed FSU decals, FSU ball caps, and other assorted FSU memorabilia, including an FSU tag on his truck. He kept up with the annual FSU sports schedule, and watched televised FSU games at his Alabama home. Tim lived in Millbrook for twenty, or more years, until his passing. He is survived by his brother Roger Hicks of Colorado and ex-wife: Paula Hicks, Hosford, Florida; two sisters: Brandy Hicks; and Katie Hicks; one son: Roddrick Hicks, and wife Anna, of Millbrook, Alabama, two nieces: Desirae Barber and husband Andrew of Starke, Florida; Disnee Ward of Bristol, Florida; one nephew: Dakota Hicks (Deceased) of Canon City, Colorado; his mother: Laura Spikes, and husband: Rick Spikes, of Hosford, Florida. Pre-deceased siblings who passed on before him are: one step-brother: Brian David Spikes (Died February 1, 2016), and one step-sister: Wendy Deanne Spikes Burch (Died August 18, 2013). Visitation will be done after the service concludes. Graveside service and eulogy will be Thursday, April 9, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m., at the Hosford Cemetery, Highway 65 South, Clyde Road, Hosford, Florida. Deacon Randal Peddie, Corinth Baptist Church Hosford, Florida will officiate. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
