Mr. Sherman Wayne Hamm

Sherman Wayne Hamm, age 25, passed away on January 17, 2023, at home in Millbrook, Alabama. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Seasons Church in Prattville, Alabama, with Pastor TJ Conwell officiating. Born December 03,1997, at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama. He lived in Millbrook and Prattville but would always call Millbrook his home. He grew up in church and the Awana program, where he memorized numerous scriptures and won many awards. Sherman loved the Lord and, at 10 years old was baptized. He would become the prodigal but only for a time. He graduated High School in 2016. He participated in various sports throughout Elementary and Jr. High school such as T-ball, Basketball, Karate, Football, Wrestling and he Bowled on a youth league, where he won some state titles. He was always on the A and B Honor Roll throughout his school years and won various awards for academics. Sherman worked at a local restaurant in Millbrook and sometimes in the landscaping business. He enjoyed cooking and serving people. He always had a friendly smile and a quirky sense of humor, which at times could seem sarcastic. Sherman was an avid reader. He enjoyed kayaking, and swimming. He loved art, especially street art and had a passion for clothing and shoe design. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Sherman Cooper and Ernie Hamm. He is survived by his mother, Alesia Ann Cooper Hamm, father, Curtis Wayne Hamm, sister Eva Catherine Hamm, niece, Keelei Blayne Battle, maternal grandmother, Helen Cooper, paternal grandmother, Betty Hamm, a special uncle, Steven “Bubba” Cooper, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins, also good friends, who knew him for many years, Gabe Baguio, Ashley Summerlin, along with Shane (Carol) Stanwitz. Sherman had a beautiful smile and a big heart. Everyone who took the time to know him, knew what a smart and intelligent person he was. He was always polite, a hard worker, and a loving son, brother and uncle. He will be missed by family, friends and coworkers. In lieu of flowers, Sherman’s family asks donations to be made to the Millbrook Public Library, the Millbrook Volunteer Fire Department Association, the Autauga County Humane Shelter in Prattville AL.
