Mrs. Martha Frances Cooper Tucker

Mrs. Martha Frances Cooper Tucker, age 75, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Webster Cooper & Mary Frances Kingsbury Cooper and her brother Thomas Cooper. Martha was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a teacher at her core and was blessed with knowing her calling in life. She had a successful 31-year career in public education at Greensboro Public School. After retirement, she taught an additional 10 years at Southern Academy. Martha was a devoted servant of the Catholic Faith. She was faithful and prayerful to God throughout her life. She instilled a foundation of Christ in her children that could withstand any storm life may offer. Martha had a love for literature. She could make characters come to life and the stories leap from the pages. She passed that love to her children. Martha was a comedian and had a contagious laugh. She wanted everyone she knew to love, laugh, and enjoy what life had to offer. Martha was a mother to Joseph Tucker (Lorelei), Kristina Brown (Ken), Samantha Tucker (Josh O'Bannon), sister to Danny Cooper (Cynthia), Phillip Cooper, Emily Kilgore and Kathy Bellenger (David). Martha had many titles throughout her life, but none of them brought as much joy as the title of Nana. She truly loved being a grandmother. She took every opportunity to brag about her 14 grandchildren to anyone that would listen. Jacob, Anna, Daniel, Jordan, Bella, Tucker, Gabbi, Sara, Kathryne, Emma, Thomas, Stryker, Asher, and River were her pride and joy. She devoutly followed all of their accomplishments over the past 27 years. Martha is carried to her final resting place in Eutaw, AL by Daniel Janes, Jordan Cummings, Tucker Ayers, Web Bellenger, Scott Brown, Vince Foust, Danny Henry, and Jake Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jacob Janes, Thomas Tucker, Stryker O’Bannon, Asher O’Bannon, and River O’Bannon. She will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother in Mesopotamia Cemetery. Fr George Maniangattu will officiate the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Martha may have left her earthly home, but she was greeted by the open arms of God and the loved ones who have gone before her. She will be dearly missed, but as she would say with a wink and a smile, “This is not the end”. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made, in her name, to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
