Mrs. Linda Diane Jackson

Linda Diane Jackson, age 75, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born on February 23, 1950, in Millbrook, Alabama, to the late Henry Jackson Jr. and Ester Lee Baxter. Linda was the second of three children. At the age of 11, she moved from Alabama to New York. During her time there, she attended Shiloh Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an usher at a young age, demonstrating an early sense of responsibility, faith, and dedication to service. Linda later returned to Alabama, where she attended and graduated from Sandtown High School. After completing high school, she returned to New York, where she began her professional career. She was employed by the Federal Reserve as a bank analyst, a role that reflected her intelligence, diligence, and strong work ethic. While living in New York, Linda met Hippolyte Williams, Jr., and the two were united in marriage in 1968. Their union welcomed one child, a son, Derrick A. Williams, born on August 30, 1970. In addition to her professional work, Linda remained deeply committed to her faith and church community. She served as a secretary for Greater Bright Light Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, where her organizational skills, dependability, and servant’s heart were greatly valued. Her beloved son, Derrick, tragically passed away on August 17, 1997. Following his passing, Linda retired from the Federal Reserve in 1998. In 2010, Linda relocated back to Alabama. She was employed at Baptist South Hospital, performing multiple job titles with the same dedication and excellence that marked her entire career. After retiring from Baptist South Hospital, Linda served faithfully as Administrator for the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, a role she truly loved. Her work at the church was more than just a job to her - it was a calling. As Administrator, Linda was a steady and trusted presence, admired for her professionalism, excellence, reliability, and wholehearted devotion to her work. Following her time with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Linda became the secretary of her home church, Jackson Chapel AME Zion Church, located in Coosada, Alabama, serving as Secretary to the Pastor, Rev. Dr. Frank Asumadu, and exemplifying her lifelong commitment to faith and service. Linda was a woman of quiet strength and enduring grace. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, resilience, and love for family. Her warm smile, wisdom, and compassionate heart will be remembered always. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Jackson Jr. and Ester Lee Baxter, her son, Derrick A. Williams, and her brother, James Jackson. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Sheryl Jackson-Cudjoe, her sister-in-law, Wynell Jackson, nieces, nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
