Mr. Leroy "Jett" Hale Sr

LeRoy "Jett" Hale, Sr. was born to the late W.T. "Bud" and Ruth Hale on July 25th, 1943 in Selma (Sardis), Alabama. He was the fourth born of 15 children. He confessed Christ at an early age at his home church, East Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama. He later moved to Elmore County in 1976 where he later joined Tabernacle MIssionary Baptist Church of Wetumpka, Alabama. There he was ordained as a deacon under the pastorage of the late Rev. L.A. Simmons. In 1964, he united in holy matrimony to Geraldine Ray on the the 2nd of July and to this union, they were blessed with 5 children. He also withheld a fruitful career in carpentry. He was employed with Ronnie Smith Builders of MIlbrook, Alabama for over 30 years until his retirement in the year 2000. During his days of retirement and leisure time, he enjoyed walking his yard, relaxing on the porch, and enjoying family gatherings. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, siblings: Jerry, Mickel, Gus, Gracie, Melvin and Daniel; grandson, O'Mar RaShaad, and other uncles, aunts, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is survived by many who will continue to carry his love in their hearts: Wife, Geraldine Hale of 54 years; Children, Djuana (Louis) Hale-Smiley, Sonya Hale, LeRoy (Teresa) Hale, Jr., Sharonda (David, Jr.) Tolbert, & Quantisha Hale-Seabon; Grandchildren, Carneshia (Ro'Shaun) Kendrick-Russell, LaTiia Hale, LaVon Hale, Ariel Smiley, DaVidra (Sedrick) Tolbert-Bowman, Rajah Hale, TeJarvis Hale, Davian Tolbert, JaMarcus Townsend, DaEric Seabon, LaTwanda Davis, Triza Smiley, Demyja Woods, and Marquel Woods; Great-grandchildren, Kaydence Kendrick, Ethyn Smiley, Karleigh Kendrick, Ariya Smiley, Cameron Woods, & Kortlynn Johnson; also his siblings, sisters: Lois Hale & Dorothy (Michael) Smiley of Selma, Alabama; Ruthie (Gene) Fields of Queens, New York; Linda (Ernest) Henderson of Slocomb, Alabama; Jamilah (Hassan) Abdallah of Harrisburg, Pennslyvania; sisters-in-law: Mary Hale of Selma, Alabama & Rena Summerlin of Wetumpka, Alabama; Brothers, Cecil (Linda) Hale of Wetumpka, Alabama; Joseph Hale of Queens, New York; Larry (Sherry) Hale of Brooklyn, New York; Brothers-in-law, Theodore Ray, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and James Ray, Sr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.
