Mr. Johnny Christian Walker

Johnny Christian Walker, age 55, of Montgomery, Alabama, died on December 15, 2025, at Baptist South Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama, after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Johnny was a loving husband, brother, uncle and nephew, and he lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a profound love for family and friends. Johnny will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, his unwavering compassion, infectious laughter, and the ability to bring joy and laughter to every room he entered. He never met a stranger and always tried to make anyone he met feel welcome and cared for by him. He will be so very missed by all. Johnny was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Johnny was born on April 1, 1970, in Sanford, Florida, to Richard Lum Walker and Estella Dixon Walker, and was the youngest of four children. Following the death of Johnny’s biological mother, his father married Phyllis Kindig Walker, who helped raise Johnny and his three siblings, Tracey, Rick, and Carl, along with her children, Kelly, Tracy, and Joey and, of course, Richard and Phyllis’ love child, Travis. Surviving Johnny is the love of his life, Patti Head Walker, to whom he was married for 30 years. He is also survived by his siblings, Rick Walker, Carl Walker, and Travis Walker, and his stepsiblings, Teri Patterson, Kelly Kolheffer, Tracy McGee and Joey Carmichael, and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, as well as his favorite aunt and caregiver, Wynona Kindig Rhodes, all of whom will forever cherish his memory. Preceding Johnny in death is his biological mother, Estella Dixon Walker, his father and mother, Richard Lum Walker and Phyllis Kindig Walker, and his sister, Tracey Walker Moss. Johnny openly expressed his belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior and chose to be baptized at Elmore Church of Christ as an outward sign of his salvation. He clearly stated that he wished to enter Heaven to see his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his loved ones who passed before him. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:15 am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama with Rev. Joseph Sheffield officiating.
