Mr. John Albert Vinson

John Albert Vinson was born to the late Ben and Bernice Vinson on August 25th, 1955, as their youngest son and the 11th of 13 children. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, August 22, 2024. John received Christ at an early age and believed in living a life close to God. His strong, loving, and generous spirit touched the lives of many and will continue to live on in his memory. John graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery and continued his education at John Patterson Technical College. He was a hardworking HVAC Master Technician for over 40 years, with most of his career spent at Hager Hinge, where he was employed from 1980 until his retirement in 2021. Outside of his daily job, he owned Vinson Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, offering the community high-quality work at honest and fair prices. John worked tirelessly to support his family, including his beloved wife, Catherine Vinson, and their three children: Tony Vinson and his wife, Jennifer, who have three children: Jadyn, Joslyn, and Jasmin. Philandra Vinson, who has three children: Justus, Pharrah, and Samaria. Jasmine Vinson and her husband, Rodney. Godson/Nephew: Jacques Vinson who has two children, Noah and Chance John leaves to cherish his memory Brothers: Ben (Lillie) Vinson Washington, DC; and Jimmy (Shirley) Vinson, Montgomery, AL Sisters: Sadie Floyd Montgomery, AL; Estella Wheeler Montgomery, AL; Bernice (Arnather) Baxter Montgomery, AL; and Vernell (Bennie) McGhee Montgomery, AL. Aunt: Ethel Whitaker, Roanoke, VA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Elam Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Jackson officiating. The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers will be Averick McGhee, Derrick McGhee, Rodney Pickett, Jacques Vinson, Jimmy Vinson, Jr. & Tramaine Vinson. Mr. Vinson will lie in repose at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
