Mr. Robert "Bob" Emmett Headrick

Mr. Robert "Bob" Emmett Headrick age 80, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Friday , March 18, 2022 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Yawn officiating. The interment will follow at Murphys Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bob was born in McEwen, TN on May 15, 1941 to Emmett Carl Headrick and Francis Thelma Page Headrick. He served his country in the United States Airforce for 6 years and retired from Civil Service after 36 years. Bob moved to Millbrook, AL in the 1960's, before it was incorporated. He worked with the efforts to incorporate Millbrook and was very proud of the city. He served in the Millbrook Volunteer Fire Department and was one of the first Emergency Medical Technicians trained in Alabama. He was a member of the Millbrook Men's Club, where he helped organize the annual barbecue for the Men's Club. Bob served on the Memorial Center Board and was instrumental in the creation of Memorial Center/ Village Green complex in Millbrook. As part of his civic duties, Bob served as Millbrook's official Santa Claus in his later years. He was a member of Murphy's Chapel United Methodist Church. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Emmett Carl Headrick and Francis Thelma Page Headrick, son Robbie Headrick, brothers Michael Stephen Headrick, Hugh Page Headrick, Carl Edward Headrick , sisters Frances Louise Ghul, Adelia Pearl Smith, Edna Louise Bianconi and Anna Sue Headrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years June Peacock Headrick, sister Jo Ann Jones (Jack) and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tommy Peacock, Clint Peacock, Tim Foster, Wayne Davis, Paul Davis and Tom Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Murphy's Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund, 9315 County Road 7708, Troy, AL 36081. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
