Colonel Charles Arnold Pigg Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Colonel Charles A. Pigg age 87, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at a local hospital. He was a retired veteran of the Korean War Era spanning thirty years of active and National Guard service, with the rank of Colonel. In his civilian career, he was an Auburn University Forestry graduate and employed by the Alabama Forestry Commission as Assistant State Forester. On retirement , he was elected to the Alabama Foresters Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Millbrook Church of the Nazarene. He is preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Lucille Pigg , son Mark Pigg , grandchildren Charles F. Free and Casey Estep. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Lorine K. Pigg of Millbrook, AL, daughters Debora K. Free (Jimmy) of Prattville, AL, Tondja D. Comiskey of Millbrook, AL, daughter-in-law Twyla Pigg of Verbena, AL, sister -in-law Fay Harris of Millbrook, AL, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and two fur babies Gustav and Gabrielle. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Les Snodgrass and Rev. Carl Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elmore County Humane Society, 255 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, AL 36092. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.
