In memory of Carl Paul Kuykendall It is always sad saying goodbye to someone that we love and cherish. It is with a heavy heart that we have to say our final farewell to our beloved Carl Kuykendall. Carl was born on November 22, 1937 to Curtis Calvin Kuykendall and Virginia Vacie Franks Kuykendall and passed away on Saturday May 1, 2021. Carl fondly known as “Kirk” to his close friends, served in the United States Air Force for eight years and he was a contractor for Lear Aircraft in Southeast Asia for many years. Over the past 46 years he was the General Manager at Montgomery Aviation. He lived an extremely adventurous life, traveled all over the world and is going to be greatly missed. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, his late wife Dawn Virginia Kuykendall, and his grandson Joseph Aaron Savignano. He is survived by his wife Linda Payne Kuykendall, his daughter Michaeila Kuykendall (Gary McGee), step-daughters Nicole Aaron, and Nakia (Pete) Gelsinger, two step-grandchildren, Ariana (Joey) Friday, and Chase Gelsinger, his brother, Richard Hesler, and sisters, Cherie (Mike) McGriff and Patti Lenox and his most loved Aunt Mildred “Pete” Newsom, several nieces and nephews. Minister Vicki Kuykendall Kirby will officiate the Celebration of Life service on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude in honor of Carl Paul Kuykendall. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
